Currently I'm working on an Undead Warlock on the Thrall server http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Thrall&n=Aarlton
At first I was just going to compile my leveling progress in a collective video on my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/Zeleii) but I figured I'd post each level and what I learned here for future reference to others :D
At first I wanted to do Destruction all the way to 80, but I decided to try Affliction and Demonology.
Well my first thoughts so far @ 36.
Destruction : You literally destroy things before they get to you but the mana inefficiency is almost ridiculous I can burn through my full Health Bar and Mana in about 10 kills. It has a lot of down time but offers insane burst and is fantastic for instance leveling.
Demonology : This spec is just not my cup of tea, I was basically spoiled by Enhancement Shaman to where I had no downtime, crazy burst and I could easily solo every group quest I wanted to. Well Demonology, you have no downtime if properly drain tank your VW/FG but when you try to kill anything, it takes ages and lacks any real burst.
Affliction : The perfect leveling spec, you can pick up 3 mobs have you pet tank one w/ Corruption on it then DoT both other targets up, fear one and begin Life Draining the other. Hopefully if you're lucky the feared mob will bring some friends, after another good fear let him run off and do his own thing, drop another fear on another mob and good game. The spec never eats and drinks... specced properly your Life Drain gives so much health return to fuel Life Tap it's not funny, the damage out put both single and multi target is fantastic and I solo mobs that are feared easily.
Long story short if anyone wants to level a Warlock, basically hit up Affliction until at least 64 (Which I will try Destruction again when I have Incinerate to fill in between Chaos Bolts and Conflags opposed to Shadow Bolt)
I'll be back later with some more updates!
